The Diploma in Assistant Nursing & Midwifery course offered by the Jawaharlal Nehru University is a two-year program designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a qualified assistant nurse and midwife. The program includes theoretical and practical training in the areas of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, nutrition, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, and community health. It also provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the clinical setting.

The program is divided into four semesters, each of which focuses on a different aspect of nursing and midwifery. During the first semester, students learn the fundamentals of nursing and midwifery, including anatomy and physiology, nutrition, pharmacology, and obstetrics. The second semester focuses on the clinical aspects of nursing and midwifery, such as patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. The third semester focuses on the management of nursing and midwifery services, including the development of policies and procedures. The fourth semester focuses on the development of professional skills, such as communication, leadership, and problem-solving.

Throughout the program, students are required to complete a number of practical assignments and assessments, as well as participate in clinical placements. Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded a Diploma in Assistant Nursing & Midwifery. This qualification is recognized by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of India and is a prerequisite for registration as a qualified assistant nurse and midwife.
