The Diploma in Assistant Nursing & Midwifery course offered by the Guru Nanak Dev University is a two-year program designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a successful assistant nurse and midwife. The course is divided into four semesters, each of which focuses on a different aspect of the nursing and midwifery profession. During the first semester, students are introduced to the fundamentals of nursing and midwifery, including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology. In the second semester, students learn about the principles of nursing and midwifery, such as patient assessment, health promotion, and disease prevention. In the third semester, students are taught about the different types of medical treatments and procedures, as well as the ethical and legal aspects of nursing and midwifery. Finally, in the fourth semester, students are introduced to the management and administration of health care facilities. Throughout the course, students are also required to complete a number of clinical placements in order to gain practical experience. Upon successful completion of the course, students are awarded a Diploma in Assistant Nursing & Midwifery and are eligible to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of India.
