The course is designed to prepare students for a career as an ophthalmic assistant. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to assist ophthalmologists in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, perform basic eye examinations, and assist in the management of ophthalmic patients. Students will also be able to perform basic eye tests, such as refraction and tonometry, and will be able to identify and treat common ophthalmic conditions. In addition, students will be able to provide patient education and counseling, as well as assist in the management of ophthalmic emergencies.
