The course is divided into two semesters. During the first semester, students will learn the fundamentals of ophthalmic care, including anatomy and physiology of the eye, ophthalmic instruments and equipment, ophthalmic examination techniques, and ophthalmic pharmacology. In the second semester, students will gain hands-on experience in the clinical setting, learning how to perform ophthalmic examinations, assist in the diagnosis and treatment of ophthalmic conditions, and provide patient education.
The course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a successful ophthalmic assistant. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded a VMOU Certificate in Ophthalmic Assistant. This certificate will enable them to pursue a career in the field of ophthalmology.
