The course is divided into three semesters. The first semester covers topics such as dental anatomy, dental materials, dental instruments, and dental office procedures. The second semester focuses on dental radiography and dental laboratory procedures. The third semester covers topics such as dental office management, dental insurance, and dental ethics.
The course is offered in both full-time and part-time formats. The full-time program is two years in duration and the part-time program is three years in duration. The course is offered at the Goa University campus in Panaji.
The course is open to students who have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination. The admission process includes an entrance test and an interview. The course fee is approximately Rs. 20,000.
Upon successful completion of the course, students are awarded a Certificate in Dental Assistant from Goa University. This certificate is recognized by the Dental Council of India and is valid for three years.
